Clash of the Splash
I read a great quote the other night, "There is no bad art, just tight deadlines" Man how that rang true to me as a commercial artist. Now if your out there just making bad art, like my roommate, then this quote is far from true. But if you are paid to create, and you have a week to do it, and the phone never stops ringing, and you never answer it.. then you get this quote. That is not to say I don't answer the phone, I always try to answer when physically possible, it's some, but sometimes I wish I hadn't.
So fellow designers/illustrators, don't beat yourselves up too hard when you are not 100% happy with how your latest project has turned out. Most probably you will never be 100% happy with any of your work, if your as self-loathing as I am, and you can keep trying to make the next piece better.

Latest Work
I have been working too much to not have new work to post on my blog. I was hopin' to have some PunchDrunk art to share by now, but have been working on race t-shirt illustrations instead. The latest one (BikeFest 09) was fun to work on, but I was surprised by the reaction of my client, an outdoors company, that it was "A playboy drawing" . Is that a compliment or not...anyone?
