Created this illustration for the soon to be open Wonderland Disc Golf Course at ACE Adventure Resort. ACE sit's on a parcel of land that has been called Wonderland for decades. If you have the chance to visit ACE you will truly be amazed at the Wonders it beholds.

Process of an Illustration

I always enjoy a look behind the curtain, to see what goes into an artist illustration.
I also enjoy sharing my process. Hope you enjoy. 

First step is a rough sketch.

Next I scan it in and using photoshop begin to draw over the sketch, tightening it up and preparing the final composition. 

Continue refining the final illustration.

When I'm happy with the line art, I begin to lay in flat colors

After the flat color is on, I add highlights and shadows...

Lastly I add the design aspects to mimic a comic book cover. Masthead, (Faux) Publisher Logo,

and cover blurb...

World Record Zip Line Challenge Illustration

Over the past few weeks, I've been volunteering my time for a great cause here in Hawaii. A comic for The Friends of the Children's Justice Center Maui to bring awareness to the issue of child abuse. This particular piece is supposed to be engaging to the kids, to give them the confidence they need to reach out to others for help and to help them realize there are people who are there for them.

Disaster preparedness illustrations for the developementaly challenged

I was commissioned to do a series of illustrated pages for developmentally challenged adults who are living on their own showing what to do in case of an emergency. The emergency scenarios varied from natural disasters such as flooding to man made disasters like terrorism. The challenge for me came not from the sequential aspect of the illustrations, but from the direction that I was not to use any words. The illustrations had to instruct the viewer what to do through the images only. I had fun working on this project and hope it helps people out there who might use it.
